I'm a little concerned about the fact that nothing is written in stone these days. All the Ancients from the Sumerians to the Egyptians drew pictures and wrote words and symbols that we can read, see and touch thousands of years later.
But, we are far more technically advanced.
Really?
I have pictures, documents, files, videos that can not be opened, retrieved or re-hashed.
"It's in the cloud." ...well, with that modern-day piece of tech advancement, I'm already missing files and important goodies I'll never see again.
I'm surrounded by some of the best tech people in the business, and none of them have programs to retrieve formats made from programs that are now obsolete. (In tech world, that takes about a day...no, hour, no..)...as soon as technology is released, it's aleady being trumped by something 'newer'.
My point is, I don't think our civilization is doing anything to preserve our existence. The problem is, most people don't even care.

My Role as James Sunderland
GREAT QUESTION. Answer: When diving deep into the psyche of James and his relationships, I realized that I've been playing the game in Real Life, and I knew that playing (the Game itself) at this point would cheapen the character of James and make him less authentic.
I might game it one day, but, in the early stages of bringing James Sunderland to Life, now is not the time, and, I take my cues from writer/producer, Brett Driver.
there were parallels in mine and Jame's personality, experiences, relationships, and Life in general. No surprise, I'm drawn to these situations...and, Brett could see it in me.
It happened also with 2 other roles I've had since being in Film. And, it's not weird, coincidence nor a mystery, that, writers and artists when inspired, can very well write about real human experiences that, especially another artists whose job is to portray, notices it, or, they are somehow connected. (These days, especially w/social networking.)
But, James went to the next level...to an extreme, because, Silent Hill and the imagery produced, is so much generated by James, in his mind. This has created a challenge for me as an actor, because I've had to deal with family deaths and other tragedy to tackle the role, and, when it gets too personal, I just want to react...regardless of the script, film, or story.
Sometimes that works..if it does, then Brett Driver captures Lighting i a Bottle. But, it can also draw you in too deep and your're distracted. That's OK, you just 'bring it back'.
But, as I develop my own experiences related to James the character, I will be able to detach more.
According to Brett's vision, and, the passion of the "Lost Days-Silent Hill Story", our dedication is to the True Fans, Those in touch with The Game. And, it's our job, to make these characters, Real. In the words of Maria that she whispered in my ear....."touch me James, see, I'm Real.".
It's an honor to play the chivalrous and selfless,
James Sunderland

So You're A RAPPER wannabe
We were touring in Ohio several years ago, and backstage there was this "kid" acting all macho with his girlfriend, she was cool, but he was being a little ______. He said, "hey man, rock & roll sucks, I listen to hip-hop, and I rap"... (you know, cuz the "hood" just outside of Cleveland he lived in is sooo much like Compton, right ; ) ?
So I made a LedZep reference & he said, yeah, they suck too. So I told him, dude, your music wouldn't exist without those guys. He said," that's BS". So I asked who he listened to, he rattled off several songs and hip-hop groups, & guess what...most of it was sampled from LedZep.
Moral of the story, it's OK to dislike some forms of music, & don't get me wrong, there's TONS of hip-hop I like, but if you're gonna be LEGIT, know your ROOTS. ~

In Memory of Charles Starlin Britt, "Charlie"
Was, no IS the best DAD in the world, and better yet, Heaven.
It's ridiculous to say that any human being is Perfect, but, when it came to being a Dad, a Father...I will say emphatically and unapologetically that he was the Perfect Father Figure. YES wtih explicatives!!! He taught all 5 of us EVERYTHING, I MEAN EVERYTHING a man could teach, BUT, he did it with few words.
Ahhh, those of us who KNEW Him KNOW what i mean right now. He was the epitome of "you don't have to say it" or boast about it, you Live It. And, when he walked in the room, he did not have to speak a WORRRRD. His very presence was over-powering, yet humble, even strangers knew, could sense his loving, caring nature. A True badass who didn't have a bad bone in his body.
I'll spare you all the sobby details, but let's just say that I'm proud to have been given his name, which REALLY should've gone to my brother, the TRUE rock&roll rebel of our Family...NOT me. But still, I'm soooo proud to have been given his name which I did not deserve. But, now that I have it ... ; )
If you don't believe in Life After Death, just come and hang out with me, my brother Wayne and our Sisters Karen, Pam, and our sweet Debbie who is also Beyond Us now...and you'll Believe...Why? because, HE taught Us how to Love, and that is... just Perfect.
And, when you see me walk across your screen, (you know, that walk) ~ you'll know
He Lives On in Us All.
p.s.
Love you Dad, and thanks for continuing to be here for me....now THAT's a Dad. I BOAST, as I should, and for those who were not as fortunate as us, there's a Dad there for you too if you just Open Your Heart to See.

SUCCESS
It's really weird talking to people and hearing their views on success, especially related to the entertainment industry. For those who see me and speak with me daily, you should know that I'm not motivated by the typical industry motivators...$$$, etc. Such conversations make me want to vomit. Please spare me.
Let's talk about the passion for the arts & the things that are real, true motivators, like making good Friends and living a Dream, right now. Things that will last, things that matter. Let's just have Fun & work together.
